North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit Course
The North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit (Often stated as 'Concealed Carry Permit' or 'CWP') is a permit that allows the recipient to carry a handgun concealed in the state of North Carolina in addition to states that are reciprocal for carry and recognize a North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit. The FBI NICS Background Check or North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit is required for purchase of a firearm in the state of North Carolina.
To obtain a North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit, you must first meet the following eligibility requirements according to the North Carolina Department of Justice Standards:- Be 21 or older (Requirement to apply for the permit - but can take the NC CHP course at the age of 20)
- A US citizen
- Be a resident of North Carolina for at least 30 days before filing your application;Â
- Provide a certificate of completion of an approved safety course.
- Must have a North Carolina State Issued ID card or North Carolina Driver's License
The above mentioned NCDOJ safety course is taught here at Horse Shoe Firearms, LLC. The course consists of a state mandated 8-hours of classroom instruction, followed by a written test and a live-fire range qualification to obtain your Concealed Handgun Permit Certificate. Fee includes the use of instructor provided .22LR handgun, but does not include pistol ammunition or range fee. Ammunition can be purchased from the instructor at the range qualification. Optional Equipment: Handgun with at least 50 rounds of ammunition (or handgun will be provided at no additional charge excluding .22 long rifle ammunition expended at the range, which incurs additional cost)
Course Fee: $75/per person for classes of four or more students.
